RE: Winnebago 'View'

I'd check out the Yahoo discussion group on the View/Navion. You can find out all the good and bad about both the conversion and the Sprinter base.

RE: Car Permits

Hi TT
I think at this point(we leave in 3 weeks), our best bet, from what i have heard, is to take them back in the bags with the vehicles. Both of these vehicles (car & bike) are going back with us. We have the 10 year permit on the MH. I understand if we have holograms and have vehicles with us, then we are a good chance of getting them canceled allowing us new ones. Thanks for your offer.
If you read the other threads here on this and links, you will see that others who tried this did NOT succeed and were turned back.

RE: Gas Generator vs. Propane

Since you are thinking 5 years up the line, there is hope that there will be better and cheaper diesel generators. You are so close to Austin - relatively speaking - Sportsmobile may be the ones to talk to at that time... in order to get exactly what you and the pups need.

RE: Is this a A, B or something else. Pretty cool though.

AMAZING!! I had never heard of such a thing until this thread and I saw one of these today when I was out shopping. A very strange looking vehicle, but it was in very nice condition.
It did rather look like one of those European train engines.

RE: Ford Emergency Service

This is also exactly why I took it to the Ford garage before my first trip and got the keypad put on the driver's door. It's not that expensive and worked like a charm as long as the battery was charged.
(and I must come back here to edit and give all the credit to Dombodals who told me about it.:B)

RE: Blown fuse?

Nothing to do with your generator...
...but I was thinking of you when Gustav passed through. I hope your place was an unscathed as it was after Katrina's visit.

RE: Raised roof on a mini van.

The company that does raised roofs on mini-vans is GTRV in Vancouver. There was a thread here in the past showing pictures of both their Caravan and Toyota Sienna:

RE: sprinter based rv-any with knowledge please reply

Oh goodie... two colors... well, of course you couldn't have the same RV model with two different colors or slightly different upholstery or a flooring variant or even make the radical move of re-arranging the exterior stripes. It should have a brand new name.
As I said, they must think we are dumber than they are... :B

RE: sprinter based rv-any with knowledge please reply

I think you're needlessly beating yourself up to require that marketing strategies make sense.
Beating myself up? If I were doing that, I would use all CAPS. :B But your message finally explains it... they think we are more stupid than they are.
Too bad they are wrong...
(BTW... I like the Navion iQ best of all of them as far as floor plan)

RE: sprinter based rv-any with knowledge please reply

So, basically you are saying that by Winnebago having a duplicate line, they can stiff their Winnie dealers by putting Itasca across the road?
Gee... doesn't that make sense... NOT!
How does that explain the duplicate Fleetwoods?

RE: sprinter based rv-any with knowledge please reply

I'm just rather a lurker here, but as I went through the nice set of links (Thanks Les Repas) provided for the different Sprinter C's I wondered... why in the heck does Fleetwood... one company... produce two identical units where the only apparent difference is the upholstery.
A couple years back, at an FMCA convention, I gave the Winnebago/Itasca salesmen a very bad time (it was raining, I was bored) about why they had two units (View/Navion) where the only difference seemed to be floor coverings and upholstery. They waffled on about how one company bought the other and different dealers carried one or the other which all made ZERO business sense.
But at least they had two company names... here we have Fleetwood doing the same thing, but it is two Fleetwoods - two identical models or so it seems from the website.
Then you have Monaco doing the same thing with the Covina and Traveler - though it is more like the Winnebago/Itasca story.
Am I missing something here? Is there a logic to this? It certainly escapes me... especially with the state of the RV business at this point in time.

RE: View 23J Sewage Hose....a permanant solution?

My first dump from my 2006 23J was a problem. When I removed the cap, urine dropped down all over my hand.
Ewwww... but don't worry... the next few times it will be your own. My B always had a tiny bit of leakage of questionable content that gathered to attack at removal of the cover. This is why one always wears rubber gloves.

I do love 'cute' but I don't think that there is anyplace to even put the portipotti...
We'd need one of those hitch models that have shown up here in the past. :B

RE: The latest in Class C's.... ;-)

Can you access through the cab or were the owners like realllllly tall to manage entrance through that door. I note a handle on the bottom, but I wonder how that door locks or unlocks.
....
Mumkin, I don't think there was a walk-thru (or crawl-thru ;)) from the cab. I think (?) the door lock is just to the left and above the upper handle, beside the door. The two small blue-ish rectangles just below the door under the floor may be the ends of a short pull-out ladder (again, ?).
I hope that's a ladder because I'd need it to just get to the lock.:E
That replacement window is nicely framed, isn't it...
I bet the inside 'was' pretty neat when it was new, but I suspect that it now matches the exterior.

RE: Too Large For Your 'B'?

Presumably it would also be continually charging from the solar panels. Definitely a great idea for those in areas that lose power regularly. No gas to buy... no carbon monoxide fumes...

RE: 10-year Hologram

I would love to know before I send it off. After all, these forms that you found linked on the Church's site are from a couple years back.
I won't be getting my notarized letter from the dealer until I go to MSP next month.
